Exciting News To Tell You!

A few weeks ago I was approached by Linda, who found me via my Madeit store, to sell my cards on consignment through her gallery, Galvanised At Millthorpe. How exciting! Of course I said YES!

Look at this gorgeous place.

Linda describes her gallery as a place to "showcase unique, Australian, handmade and quirky things". She particularly liked my Steampunk designs and we decided on 6 to start and see how they went.

This is what I sent her.

I used Glossy Accents on the light bulbs to give the illusion of glass.

The next one is my particular favourite I think. The clock brad in her ear is Bo Bunny.

More Glossy Accents. Would you believe I've only just discovered this stuff and boy, is it getting a workout!

And here they are all packaged up and ready for their new home.

They went on display this weekend and yesterday morning I received word that two had sold already! Linda is marketing them as "handmade, keepsake, art cards for special occasions." Too cool!!.

I hope to have a photo of the display soon and will share it with you as soon as I get it.

More Steampunk!

This blog is turning into one big advertisement for Graphic 45 isn't it? I can't help it though. Their papers are just so perfect for the style of card I make. There are stacks of other fabulous paper designs out there but I seem to return to Graphic 45 and Kaisercraft again and again.

This is another card using Steampunk Debutante. The colours are just fabulous.

And the inside treatment.

On Sunday, I said I would show you a little sneak of an upcoming project. I have a fabulous picture in my mind of what all this will look like when I'm finished. I sooo hope I won't disappoint myself!

A Productive Day!

Three new cards made this afternoon! Yep three! I sometimes don't even get that many done in a week, let alone a day.

For the first one I've re-visited an old favourite, Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante.

That gorgeous clock is from Scrapmatts.

The next one is a Mother's Day card, using the same Bella Ever After papers as my last post.

Too purty!

And last but not least is a Birthday card using Imaginise.

Gotta love the Bow Easy for making the perfect bow.

Having A Go At Steampunk.

                                                   

The Steampunk style has been a part of fantasy, science fiction artwork and literature for a few years now. When I first heard the phrase "steampunk" I had to google it and, even though I liked what I saw I couldn't see how it would work with small pieces like a card. Then Graphic 45 hopped on the bandwagon and introduced their Steampunk Debutante collection. Well, now I could see.

I made this card as a thankyou for someone who's zest for creating truly inspires me.
