A Dad Day Card

The first Sunday in September is Father's Day here in Australia. Now, I struggle with 'man' cards at the best of times, which is why there are only two Father's Day cards in my madeit store at this at the moment. I'm being made to step out of my comfort zone though with a few custom orders for male cards, so stay tuned!

I'm pretty chuffed with how this one turned out even though it just seems tooooo simple and 'clean'. LOL But that's men for ya!

And inside...

Now to balance this post with a bit of girly. A Holy Communion card.

This one I'm also entering in Extra Challenge #3 - over at Card and a Half.

My Beautiful New Flowers

I have discovered a fabulous American website with THE most gorgeous fabric flowers, Shabby Flowers. Cheap as chips and so is shipping, pop over and have a look, you won't be disappointed, especially with our dollar the way it is.

Now have a look at what I have created with one of their fabulous creations.

And a close up.....

Isn't it fab?

And lastly, the inside of the card (sorry, but I think the sun disappeared about the time I was taking this one so it's a bit dull, but you'll get the idea).

Now, I haven't done this for a long time but I'm entering this card in Extra Challenge #3 - over at Card and a Half.

I'm Back!

Well, it seems like FOREVER! Packing, cleaning, moving, cleaning, unpacking has taken longer than I thought it would. Of course everything else in my new home was unpacked and organised before all my "stuff" made it out of the boxes. Then once all my "stuff" was unpacked and organised I couldn't find my mojo!! So I did what every good mojoless paper crafter does.... I forced (lol) myself to visit my local scrapbooking store. Even then I came home and still didn't feel inspired. My new supplies sat on my desk for a few days just being admired but yesterday the urge to create returned! YAY!!

The first thing I had to make were a couple of thank you cards for all the people who helped me during the process of packing, cleaning, moving, cleaning, unpacking......

Here are just a couple of those cards.

Bo Bunny "Timepiece".

I really like this collection for male cards. I love the worn look of the paper.

You can't see from the photo below, but I Glossy Accented the frame around the clock very thickly which gave it a lovely smooth, raised look.

I also adhered the bead chain with Glossy Accents. Just love that stuff!!!

Love to use it for giving the appearance of glass too, like on the little second keeper in the photo below.

For this next one I've used lots of fussy cutting and layers.

Bazzill Cardstock - White
Bo Bunny PP - Timepiece Home, Timepiece Tick Tock, Timepiece Cut Outs

2 Ways With Purple Pumpkin Spotty Buttons.

For those of you who don't already know Purple Pumpkin, where ya bin??? As soon as you've finished checking out my cards (not before, you hear) get yourselves over there to have a look. There is heaps of great eye candy from the DT and a sale of handmade embellishments, like the buttons you are about to see, on a regular basis.

Now, I said "2" ways with spotty buttons and here is the first. I chose this Bo Bunny PP specifically to use with the spotty buttons but when I put them together the buttons were just to bright. The white spots were very well...ummm...white! What to do? What to do? Reach for the antiquing spritz and dauber of course!

A teeny spray on the dauber, a rub on scrap paper to remove most of it again, making the dauber nearly dry, and then a rub on the buttons. Voila!

The little orange doily, Purple Pumpkin again, also got a spritz of the antiquing spray.

Here's the inside of the card also. I always forget to include a photo of the inside but I'm going to try really hard to remember from now on.

OK, that was one way. The next is soooo easy.

Did you spot it?? Excuse the pun.......lol.....

Top of the class if you thought they were unaltered! Yep, spotty buttons in their "pure" form. Bright, bright, bright and so exactly JUST RIGHT for this fun card.

And look! All the way to the end of the post I hadn't forgotten to include the inside!

Just one more thing before you pop over to Purple Pumpkin.

I've been very remiss about giving you a list of supplies with my posts so from now on I'm going to list what I use at the end of each post and if I ever have time I'll try and edit previous posts as well.

OK, you can go and have a look at Purple Pumkin now.

Happy papercrafting!

Imaginisce, Scrapmatts And A Couple Of Quick Cards.

I wasn't quite sure what I could do with this paper, it seemed more suited to LO's than cards. A quick search through my stash came up with the cute, little Scrapmatts sea shells (CB6061 Shells 01 and CB6062 Shells 02).

A bit of ink to match the paper and there you go!

Great cards for kids I think.

Boy Cards!

Yep, more of those ever so hard "boy" cards! I really, really struggle with boy cards, man cards too, for that matter. I just can't seem to find any inspiration for male cards in any of the PP's. Now, when I saw the Teresa Collins Designs "On The Edge" collection, I saw something I could work with. I whipped up these two in no time using my tried and true sketch that you can find here.

I even dug out a ghost shape that I've had forever!

And see the bling? Yep, I snuck some on. It's not a crown without some sparkle right?

Kaisercraft Chanteuse And Some Fabulous Chipboard.

I loved this collection the minute I laid eyes on it. It's right up my alley. Muted colours, lots to fussy cut and a slightly whimsical feel. Yummo right? Add to it some chipboard, bling and Prima and voila!

Gorgeous tree! Gotta get me another one of these!

The next flourish is from my stash and I really wish I could remember who's it is. I think it was a packet of 3 and I only have one left now.

And lastly.

Another gorgeous Scrapmatts CB5057 Floral Design 03 with little Glossy Accented berries hanging from it.

Kaisercraft Lullaby

I picked up a Kaisercraft Lullaby 6 x 6 paper pad the other day, not sure if I would really like the paper or not. As it turns out it I really did like it.

A pigeon pair.

And another pigeon pair!

And for this one I used the fabulous Scrapmatts CB5057 Floral Design 03.

You can't see it here, but I inked it in pink and Glimmer Misted it with Old Lace.
