Arrhhh! Bad Photos.

My entry in the 2 Sisters Challenge - No designer paper.

Such a nice card, such a bad photo!
Some of you may know I haven't had a computer for a week, yes a WEEK!! By the time I uploaded these photos from the camera, which by the way looked perfectly fine on the camera, the card had been packed up and sent off to my lovely friend. So no opportunity to retake a better photo. Oh well, my friend and I know how nice and sparkly it really is.

As you have no doubt guessed it's a wedding card, with sparkly entwined hearts, which are Kaisercraft wood flourish hearts, Modge Podged and glittered.

And my new, new favourite bow to do.

Again, the detail is really hard to see but the card was truly beautiful!

Moving on......

I want to tell you about a lovely new blog by Liz Weber. Some of you may already know Liz from her blog I Love Creating Cards. Well she has combined her cardmaking love with her love of coordinating card kits and come up with Make Your Own Cards. Please visit and have a look at her very first Merry Christmas card kit!!

Le Wedding Card.

Now I wonder if that should be "le" or "la" wedding card? Feel free, anyone out there in the blogasphere, to correct my ignorant French!

Anyhoo, this is the card for the wedding of the acceptance I made here.

See that little image? That's from a Graphic 45 (surprise, surprise) Le Romantique paper. I scanned the sheet, then printed it onto white Bazzill for a little texture and used a gold gel pen to accent a few of the folds in the brides dress. You can see the result  in the closeup photo further down.

And here's that closeup.

I'm feeling particularly clever, as I would usually buy that sort of thing, but gave it a go myself because I wanted a quite small one. Sooo easy! I don't know why I've been scared of them!!

I wasn't sure about using black card for the base, thought maybe it was a bit funeralish, but I'm pretty happy with overall look. Pretty formal looking I think.

Le Romantique - A Wedding RSVP.

A friend asked me to make a wedding acceptance for her as she couldn't find anything in the shops that she liked. Once again I have used Graphic 45, the Le Romantique Collection (can you tell I have a little obsession with Graphic 45 at the moment?). I love that all their collections have image pages, taking all the guesswork out of finding the perfect image and there are always plenty of coordinated patterned papers to choose from.

This is what I printed inside:

We would love to share your special day with you.

I wanted to say something that felt warm and not as stiff as the mass produced ones.

And look at that bow!!! I am so proud of that bow. I usually tie bows the way I tie shoelaces (not the rabbit ears way, the other loop and through way) and they look bloody awful. I thought that I would try the rabbit ears way this time and even though it felt really awkward it looks soooo much better.

Happy papercrafting!!

The Crafty Pad Challenge 75.

Paper piecing is this weeks challenge over at The Crafty Pad and it seems that cakes are all the rage over there too. I'm going to use one of my not so traditional wedding cards to enter.

Good luck to everyone that enters!

You might also have noticed that I have reverted to my original 2 column layout. I have an old 17" monitor and it all looked great here at home but when I checked it out on a bigger monitor at work it was awful. Things hanging off the sidebars everywhere so back it went!
